The American Bullfrog |
Make way, because a mottled, one and a half pound green blob is making it’s way towards you, croaking up a storm. Meet the American Bullfrog, who “[sounds like a mooing cow] [and is]...the most wide-ranging of all North American amphibians.” This frog likes to stay in bodies of water that don’t move much, where they know for sure what’s for lunch. Speaking of lunch, it could be anything. Bullfrogs are carnivorous animals- bugs, birds, beetles- you name it, they eat it. As long as the food fits in their mouth, the bullfrog will eat it. In the wild, these tiny beasts live from 7-9 years. Female frogs are slightly bigger than males, though males are highly aggressive. You have nothing to fear....
